Calling all Southern CA kiddos (and the parentals)!

I'm starting to think about my portfolio class (that I'm taking in March/April), and I'm going to need some kiddos! Details are still being processed (in my brain) ;) but I'm hoping to get some fun stuff going the first few weeks of March... I'll post more details once I have them, but if anyone's interested, I'd love to photograph your kiddos!

.[senior status... h].

while home over summer break, i shot this beauty for her senior portraits. it's crazy to think of her as a senior already... she's lived down the block from me since as long as i can remember. how time flies... [click on image to view larger]

.[bitty k].

the newest addition to my family arrived in june... perfect timing, as i was home on summer break! k is now 6 months old (and there are new pictures of her to come once i get down the line). these were taken when she was one week. it's so much fun to watch them grow and to look back on these and remember just how bitty she was. .[an update about updates].

i know i've seriously been slacking on the updates, but my new year's resolution? to update more. there's so much to update from the last... er, 7 months? (for shame!) so i'll try to do a few posts every few days until all is caught up.

of course, my facebook is also a good place to get caught up on everything as well.

happy 2011... prepare to be bombarded by pictures ;)

Booking Information. Milwaukee, Summer 2010

Senior Portraits for the 2010/2011 school year

Sitting fee: $150.

This includes up to 3 outfits (if desired).

Also included:

(1) Retouched 8x10

(2) Retouched 5x7s

(2) Retouched sheets of wallets (9 per sheet)

of your top look.

Additional prints/looks can be purchased for added fees.

I work with natural light, and love the laid back feel. Your comfort is my priority.

I will be scouting locations once I am actually in town, but for right now, if the weather and lighting permits, the wooded area in Grant Park, off E. College Ave and S. Lake Dr will be a great location. We will be able to get several different looks, and perhaps we can even get down to the beach (again, lighting/time of day permitting). I’ll also be looking into some other locations, so look for additional information soon!

*Locations may change after scouting, and weather permitting*

Children/Newborn Photography

I love capturing the little ones!

Sitting fee: $200 (up to 4 children, each additional, $25).

With the little ones, time and patience is required. A session could be done in 45 minutes, or it could take 3 hours. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to capture those special moments.

I work in natural light, outside, and in the home in the child’s environment.

*Locations are being scouted, if you're interested in an outdoor session, so look for more information to come!*

Props and outfit changes are also a fun way to get different looks if the child is willing!

Also included:

(1) Retouched 8x10

(2) Retouched 5x7s

(1) Retouched sheet of wallets (9 per sheet)

of your top choice

Additional prints/looks can be purchased for added fees.

The dates of availability are June 23rd-July 3rd. Times to be announced.

*More dates may be added, depending on my arrival and departure dates. Call for more specifics, if needed.*

Thank you so much, and I look forward to working with you!

Self Portrait

For an assignment we had to shoot a self portrait that showed our style of photography... Um, I'm used to photographing children/babies, so I was a little lost as to what to do with ME. But I HAVE come to notice I like tighter crops and of course, natural light. Not sure if this is what he's going/looking for, but here's my favorite of what I shot today.

(This is just a screencap of the mostly finished version that I will be submitting)

Studio!

So I'm definitely more of a natural light source girl, however I've been playing with studio lighting more recently, mostly to build my portfolio (for class, and in general). And I used my favorite subjects-- kids. Super fun!

So, for an assignment, we were to create a mock up web landing page-- basically what we'd like our main/home page to look like once we have a website (or for those lucky ones who have already taken the time to design one-- take a screen capture). Unfortunately I wasn't one of those "lucky" ones. Therefore, I was tortured and put to the dubious task of designing a page. And if it wasn't evident before (which it was), I was SO not meant to be a graphic designer. However, I do feel this points in some general direction and flows with my promo cards (done by the fabulous Rebecca Dever-- someone who does have the talent and patience for graphic design). With that said, here is a general idea/style of what I'd like my landing page to look like. Of course once it IS a web page, with flash or html, the buttons, when scrolled over, will move or be illuminated, or do some other cool effect. Thank goodness that wasn't the assignment however; my poor brain would not be able to take it!

Without further adieu, I present my landing page...

It's all about the rockin' hair bows

I've recently become fascinated with large, rockin' hair bows. And combine that with the carefree innocence of a child? It's golden :)

I have a blog? What?!

Oh my goodness! Never, ever did I think there'd come a day where I'd be nearly remotely interesting enough for a blog! But yet, here I am! That being said, I'm not nearly tech savvy enough for this and I'm still trying to figure this out, so please bear with me :)

The reason I've started this however, should be fairly obvious. I am an up and coming photographer, trying to make a name for myself. This seems like a good place to start. With this blog, I'll share with the world all I have to offer. I will use this blog to post information about shoots, ranging from locations, times, pricing, etc. And I'll also use it to post fabulous sneaks from photoshoots I've already done.

As a student, this is all a learning process for me, but in the mean time, I'm here to answer any and all questions. My contact information is:
